Kristen earned her Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati following her undergraduate studies in Architecture at the University of Kentucky. Her professional background includes roles as a Designer at Studio Techne Architects in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a Project Manager at RED Architecture & Planning in Columbus, Ohio.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Kristen brings a wealth of practical experience and academic rigor to her role. Prior to this, she contributed to the academic community as a visiting faculty member at the former Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin.
Kristen's scholarly pursuits and teaching philosophy converge on the notion that art and architecture are potent instruments of activism in our world. Her research and teaching agenda is dedicated to exploring how these disciplines can, and should, engage with society as catalysts for positive change.
Beyond her academic endeavors, Kristen maintains an active practice in textile design, a pursuit that reflects her enduring fascination with ornamentation and its intricate relationship with identity.
